Smooth stones gild the wash area leading to the roomy sauna and steam baths, while delicate dim lighting punctuates the place’s tranquil ambience. Yuri began developing skin pigmentation quite some time ago – all because of her love for the sun and sand. She has long been concerned about her skin pigmentation and is seeking the right treatment to correct this. Owing to her hectic schedule as a consultant, she also has acquired dry, dull skin which lacks much-needed radiance.To address Yuri’s skin problems, the therapist recommends an iPulse IPL Face Rejuvenation to lighten her pigmentation and add radiance to her face.

Steps
Step 1: Cleansing
The therapist removes her mascara and all traces of make-up using their own brand of mild make-up remover. Her face is then cleansed with the use of a facial cream to wipe off excess dirt.
Step 2: Exfoliate
Since Yuri has sensitive skin, the therapist uses a scrub that is especially formulated for her skin type. Using a scrub for normal or dry skin type might have detrimental effects on her face.

Step 3: Application of cold gel
Cold gel is applied to Yuri's face to cool her face and ensure the best transmission of light to her skin. This IPL Gel is hypoallergenic and is non-irritating on the skin.

Step 4: Flash IPL on the face
The IPL applicator emits pulse light as the therapist run it on her face. IPL will lighten pigmentations & add radiance to her complexion.

Step 5: Flash Specific Problem Areas
The therapist thoughtfully puts in additional flashes on her problem areas – or parts of her face where her pigmentations are most apparent.

Step 6: Put on 2 Layers of Mask
2 types of mask were used: A carrot mask especially made for sensitive skin to lighten her pigmentations, and a collagen mask for a firmer skin.

Step 7: Apply Toner, Moisturizer and lots of Sunblock
Toner is applied to restore her skin’s natural pH balance, while the moisturiser is added to hydrate the skin.

After the Treatment...
For every increment in my age, the dullness of my skin and my pigmentation worsen. I have done IPL a few times before. Compared to other places, what I enjoyed about Spa Ziwi is that they really tried to understand my skin condition before flashing IPL units on my skin. They also put in additional flashes on problem areas after they flashed all over my face. The treatment was painless, I only felt a light sensation. The night after I got the treatment, my face felt warm and looked pinkish – which did not bother me at all.
